This is a one-semester course in money and banking. The course will examine the structure and operation of the U.S. financial system. Major emphasis will be placed on commercial banking; the role of the Federal Reserve; policy tools; the Keynesian and Monetarist approaches to monetary theory; and discussion of major issues in monetary policy.
