This course provides an elementary treatment of program control structures and data, file and object structures used to develop software. Topics include structured programming; program verification; data structures including arrays, lists, and stacks; objects; and indexed files. This course is designed to fulfill the CS1 requirement in the ACM computer science curriculum. Prerequisite: a grade of "B" or higher in CIS101; or CIS101 and an introductory course in programming.
