An introduction to the rhetoric of cultural identity in the post-colonial Francophone world. Examination of French-speaking cultures of Africa and the Caribbean, as reflected in literature (e.g., short stories, essays, novels) and film. Includes work on speaking and writing skills. May not be presented as part of the foreign language requirement for the BA degree. Lecture, discussion. Fall.
