This advanced course is an elective for majors in the Programmer/Analyst track and minors. The course provides instruction in advanced programming through lab activities, programming clinics, and lectures. Concepts such as complex iteration, control breaks, data validation, table handling, updating a master file, sequential, indexed, and relative file processing, sorting, searching (algorithms and syntax), program calls, string manipulation, and elements of object-oriented programming are discussed and practiced. This course assumes a working knowledge of COBOL. Prerequisites: MIS 1370 or CSCI 1470, and minimum of C in MIS 3301. Spring.
