An elective course for management and marketing majors and minors, this course is designed to increase the effectiveness of communication across cultures in today's global business environment. Course content focuses on the application of theory and research in multicultural communication. Specific topics addressed include intercultural communication (between members of different cultures), multicultural communication (among members of various cultures), culture-biased assumptions, contrasting cultural values, communication and negotiation strategies, verbal and nonverbal patterns, culture shock, and country-specific information.
