This course is a requirement in the middle level mathematics/science education major. The primary goal is to connect middle school mathematics content with advanced mathematics. Topics include the concepts of derivative, integral, Pick's Theorem, Monte Carlo method, rates of change, and partitioning methods. In addition to the mathematics content, the course focuses on instructional methods, strategies, and connections to science topics. Delivery is mainly through discussion and problem solving activities. Prerequisite: MATH 3354 or MATH 3364. Fall.
