An elective kinesiology and physical education course. This course is the study and practice of lifesaving techniques, knowledge, and skills preparing students for lifeguarding certification by the American Red Cross. Prerequisite: Students must possess swimmer-level skills (i.e., swim 500 yards using required strokes, tread water without use of arms for two minutes, and retrieve 10 pound object from 7 feet of water).
