A core course required of kinesiology and physical education majors, and athletic training majors and an elective for students with an allied health career interest. This course emphasizes the study of muscular activity and the associated energy systems, the general effects of exercise on physiologic processes and body functions, and the adaptations that occur as a result of physical exercise training. Lecture, laboratories, specialized computer software and a research project. Prerequisites: KPED 2381 or BIOL 2405 or BIOL 2406 or consent of instructor. Fall, spring, summer.
