An upper-division elective for Geography, Asian Studies, or other students. Using a lecture, discussion, and Internet/technology format, an examination and comparison of the various nations that comprise Pacific Asia is achieved. Regional emphasis will be centered on China, Japan, North and South Korea, and the states of Southeast Asia. Topical emphasis is on the physical environment, resources, social and economic development, historical trends, and participation in today's globalizing world. Prerequisite: GEOG 2362 or consent of instructor. Spring, odd years.
