The course introduces the teacher- education candidate to a wide range of literature for children from grades four through eight and to criteria essential to evaluating and selecting good literature for middle-school readers. Lecture, discussion, writing. The course may not be counted toward the English major or minor. Prerequisite: Admission to teacher education. Fall.
