Required for a chemistry major. Students are introduced to modern methods of molecular structure determination including mass spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and NMR spectroscopy. Students gain practice in the integration of diverse experimental information toward the correct identification of molecular structures. Two hours of lecture per week. Corequisite: CHEM 3411. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in CHEM 2401. Spring.
