This course will explore advanced concepts in cell function and cell communication by introducing topics including, but not limited to, cytoskelatal function, the extracellular matrix, apoptosis, cell division, and motility. This course emphasizes the molecular basis of cellular function and communication through the study of how these processes are intimately interconnected and how they relate to the overall function of both unicellular and multicellular eukaryotic organisms. Lecture and laboratory. Prerequisite: BIOL 3402 (C or better). Spring.
