An elective in the anthropology minor core. An exploration of supernatural beliefs and practices from primeval through contemporary culture including techniques for controlling the supernatural, parallels in religious movements and upheavals, and today's quest for meaning and sanction. Students should gain undertstanding of unfamiliar beliefs and the underlying psychic unity of humankind. Lecture and discussion. Prerequisite: ANTH 1302. Spring.
