Estate planning focuses on the efficient conservation and transfer of wealth, consistent with the client's goals. The course is a study of the legal, tax, financial, and non-financial aspects of this process, covering topics such as trusts, wills, probate, advanced directives, charitable giving, wealth transfer and related taxes. The course is designed for students majoring in accounting who want to focus on the area of taxation and for students in the insurance major who are specializing in financial planning. The course will introduce students to the integrated discipline of estate planning. Prerequisite: ACCT 3316. On demand.
