Credits: 1 Student must submit two faculty recommendations and a sample of recent academic writing, and complete an interview with the director of the Writing Center. Experiential learning course in teaching of writing across disciplines. Students receive Writing Center training in theory and techniques of tutoring writing, and work a minimum of 3 hours per week in Writing Center. Focus is on practical application of writing theory and pedagogy from course readings, development of tutoring skills, and self-reflection through journals and final paper. Prerequisites Grade of A in ENGL 302, 60 credits, and overall GPA of 3.00 or higher with a GPA in major of 3.50 or higher. Notes May be repeated up to three times.
