Credits: 3 Intensive overview of concepts, techniques, and models of physical chemistry as they apply in many branches of chemistry and allied sciences. Topics include properties of gases, first and second laws of thermodynamics, phase and chemical equilibrium, chemical kinetics, atomic and molecular structure, and spectroscopy. Emphasizes developing practical skill in using tools of physical chemistry. Extensive use of spreadsheet models to investigate chemical and physical systems.
