Credits: 3 Focuses on global-level changes that influence ecology. Introduces climate system - past, present, and future - emphasizing links between ecological systems and changes in climate, land use, and element cycling. Topics include responses of forests, oceans to climate change; effects of elevated carbon dioxide on plants; effects of ultraviolet radiation on aquatic systems; salt marsh responses to sea level rise; global eutrophication; desertification; carbon sequestration; and public policy implications of global change science.
