Credits: 3 Detailed examination and re-evaluation of the basic concepts of kinship and social organization in light of contemporary anthropological concerns. Several classical and contemporary texts develop key issues of social organization. Review of traditional concepts of classical anthropology introduces discussion of the nature of the broad epistemological shift that occurred in the last quarter of the 20th century.
