Credits: 3 Examines selected topics with emphasis on the integration of different kinds of knowledge and the balancing of alternative ways of assessing meaning and relevance. Topics usually drawn from issues of global economic processes, civic rights and responsibilities, the environment, and migration. Student papers and oral presentations receive formal review by multiple faculty members, to which the students must then respond. Satisfies general education synthesis requirement.
