Credits: 3 Survey of research on the relationship between language and culture, and the many ways the study of language has enhanced understanding of the nature of culture. Course material drawn from anthropology's four traditional subdisciplines (cultural, linguistic, prehistoric archaeology, and physical), as well as neighboring fields such as sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, literary theory, and ethnology.
