(3 Units) The design and implementation of computer-based data bases utilizing a commercial data base management system from the business systems analyst's point of view. Provides background for the intelligent selection and use of data base management systems. Topics include discussion of types of available systems, functions of data base administration, conceptual data base design, data independence integrity, privacy, and query. The student will design and implement a data base utilizing a data base management system. Prerequisites: CIS 2010 or one semester of another programming language.
