Effective Aug 1, 2009 View History Description: Emphasizes photography as a means of artistic expression with a primary focus on photography as a means of image making much like other artistic mediums, e.g. painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation. Students study the technical, compositional, and conceptual elements of photography as a visual language as well as gain an understanding of the history and uses of photography from the mid-19th century to contemporary photographic practice.
