Effective Jan 24, 2005 View History Description: Exposes students to noteworthy poems and narratives by such 20th century writers as Fortunato Vizcarrondo, Luis Pales Matos, Carmen Col?n, Manuel del Cabral, Nicolas Guillen, Nancy Morej?n, Ana Lydia Vega, Luis Rafael Sanchez, and Jos? Luis Gonzalez. Examines the "African?a" of peoples from Ecuador to Venezuela, Colombia to Uruguay, and Cuba to Dominican Republic. Identifies the peoples and nations as a collective determination of diverse cultures that shape their identities socially, politically, and artistically. (Offered every fourth semester.)
