Effective Aug 1, 2009 View History Description: The purpose of the course is to teach students the basic tools and principles of playwriting with a particular emphasis on language, dramatic scenes and dialogue, setting, and the development of an analytical approach to solving script problems. By emphasizing the craft of scriptwriting for the stage, students will be encouraged to see the script as a plan for the creative project before anything is committed to production.
