Effective Aug 22, 2005 View History Description: Alternative portfolio-based assessment of the Graduate Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR). Provides no instruction in writing, oral communication, or critical thinking. Assumes students have already attained mastery of the outcomes. It is not an independent study. GWAR is required to graduate and should be completed at the beginning of the junior year. The recommended pathway for the fulfillment of GWAR is a GWAR-certified course. Students who believe they have completed written work that demonstrates fulfillment of the GWAR outcomes may seek instructor consent to enroll.
