Effective Jan 24, 2005 View History Description: Explores the mechanics of music composition and arranging by examining component parts in detail including melody, rhythm, and harmony. Further exploration of this subject includes examination and critical analysis of various musical works past and present. Students are encouraged to develop these critical listening faculties in the search for compositional and arranged material that they will use in their individual compositions.
