A study of marketing principles and strategies, marketing research, marketing channels, marketing services and specific markets for horticulture products such as greenhouse crops, florist crops, nursery crops, landscape commodities and turfgrass. The student will study current marketing practices used by producers, shippers, wholesalers, retailers and purveyors of horticulture services. The role of state and federal regulatory agencies will be reviewed. Additional course fees, including a field trip, are required. Prerequisite: ORHT172 or industry experience.
