This summer course offers a two-week concentrated investigation into the historical development of European gardens. The course will study the importance of the gardens as reflections of the social cultures of their times, the chronological order of their development and the designers important to their style. The course will also offer opportunities for the study of the plant materials and modern landscape techniques of western Europe. The entire course will be taught abroad.
