A broad-based descriptive course designed to provide students with a basic understanding of agriculture as an important segment of the United States' economy. Components of agriculture as an industry are identified and analyzed. Career opportunities are identified throughtout the course. The interrelationships of agriculture and other industries in the economy are stressed. The role of the U.S. agriculture in international relations, business and trade is included. This course is limited to and required of students with no previous coursework in agricultural business and enrolled in an Agricultural Business BT program.
