This purpose of this course is to start at the very beginning of computer programming and gradually enrich the student's skill set to include not only programming fundamentals, but to learn those skills within a familiar web browser context. The student will learn a simple programming language called JavaScript, combined with standard web languages HTML and CSS. At the end of this course the student will have the necessary skill set to continue on to the more advanced information technology classes based on either the Java or the .NET platforms. Additionally, the student will have the foundation for further JavaScript/HTML/CSS development, culminating in the programming paradigm called Dynamic HTML, and its even more modern version - Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX).
