3 credits. A seminar to introduce history as an academic discipline and acquaint the student with the work of major historians and problems of historical interpretation. Students will be required to complete assignments designed to develop basic skills in historical research and writing. Open to all students, but required of history majors. Fulfills the College of Arts and Letters writing-intensive requirement for the major.
