The course investigates the emergence of capitalism, its relationship to modern nationalism, and the role that the concepts of development has played in the contemporary organization of nation-states from the perspective of world systems/dependency theory approaches. Prerequisites: GHIST 102 and HIST 395. Instructor's permission required to waive HIST 395 prerequisite for non-history majors.
