Attention is given to the Italian and Northern Renaissance, fragmentation of Western Christendom, intellectual impact of Luther and Calvin on Western thought and structure of Tudor despotism in England. Prerequisite: HIST 395. Instructor's permission required to waive HIST 395 prerequisite for non-history majors.
