3 credits. Offered fall and spring. This course examines the fundamentals of visualizing spatial data in static and dynamic environments. Students will learn about cartographic design, thematic cartographic techniques, developing spatial data from non-spatial information and with GPS equipment, and geographic visualizations. Students will also develop a portfolio of hard copy and soft copy visualizations. Prerequisite: GEOG 215.
