3 credits. Offered spring. Introduction to the critical thinking skills associated with problems inherent spatial components. Identification of the spatial elements of a given problem, the data requirements for addressing that problem, collections/acquisition, and organization of data and use of geographic information systems to explore spatial patterns relevant to the problem of interest. Prerequisites: GEOG 215, GEOG 216 and an introductory course in statistics (GISAT 251 or equivalent) or permission of instructor.
