This introductory course is an examination of systems and processes that influence patterns of Earth's atmosphere, biotic communities, soils and landforms at multiple spatial and temporal scales. Included are classroom and laboratory experiences that are geared toward investigating interrelationships among atmosphereic conditions, Earth's natural surface characteristics and human-induced modifications of Earth's features.
