A workshop designed to introduce the student of fiction to techniques and concepts, such as characterization, plotting, point of view, theme, setting, and tone. The focus of the course is on writing the short story, although other fictional forms may be explored. Markets for fiction and preparing manuscripts for submission are also discussed. Enrollment is limited to 15 students. Pre: Any 2000-level ENG or LIT course; or WRI 1150 or consent of instructor
