Topics include: properties of seawater, physical laws and classification of forces, the equation of motion, turbulence, geostrophic flow, wind-driven circulation, thermohaline circulation, waves, and tides. Pre: BIOL 2052, CHEM 2052, MARS 2060, MARS 2062, PHYS 2050 or PHYS 2030, and MATH 2214 or higher except MATH 3301/MATH 3326.
