A course that helps students separate science fiction from scientific fact, and encourages innovative speculation about the opportunities and risks that are being presented to individuals, business, industries, governments, and economies as global information systems expand. Students use a variety of resources (e.g., multimedia, telecommunications services, video, and print) to investigate possibilities in many areas, including: strategic marketing; distance education and training; participation in the global economy; virtual reality; managing an "electronic" work force; competitive information; andinformation security.
