This course will explore the role of integrated communication in the health care field. It begins with an examination of the context of the communication program and activities, then examines the definitions and nature of communication, models and theory as appropriate to health care, the importance of behavior change and how communication is used to encourage it, the planning and programming of communication programs, and the elements of a health care communication. Pre: COM 6000, COM 6050, COM 6400, and an overall graduate GPA of 3.0.
