This course is the first semester of a two-semester laboratory sequence in biochemistry. It serves as the laboratory components of the associated lecture course CHEM 4030. The emphasis is on proteins, enzyme kinetics, lipid membranes and use of primary literature. Biochemical laboratory techniques, such as spectrophotometry, gel electrophoresis, column chromatography and gas chromatography are employed. Pre: CHEM 3033 and concurrent enrollment in CHEM 4030.
