Biochemistry delves into the chemical aspects of living organisms. This course is the second half of a two semester survey of this vast and growing field. The structure and function of biological macromolecules, with an emphasis on enzyme function and metabolism, will be examined. Topics to be covered include advanced metabolism andbiosynthesis, DNA (replication, transcription and translation) and gene expression. Pre: CHEM 4030.
