Prerequisite: Audition. It is highly recommended that students take music 246 A and B. The University Jazz Band is a large jazz ensemble open, by audition, to music majors and non-music majors. A full curriculum is provided to help students learn the fundamentals of jazz. Guest artists often perform with the group in order to expose students to the highest levels of performance in so doing raise their standard. The University Jazz Band meets for an hour three times per week and performs each semester. (Fall, Winter, Spring)
