Prerequisite: ME 322 Application of principles of thermodynamics to air standard cycles (Otto, Diesel, Brayton, Sterling, and Ericsson), steam power cycles (Rankine), and refrigeration and heat pump cycles. Property calculations for gas mixtures. Processes involving air water mixtures, psychrometric charts, etc., with applications to air-conditioning and drying processes. Introduction to Thermodynamic calculations for combustion chemical reactions. Laboratory experience analyzing thermodynamic systems. (As needed)
