Prerequisite: Math 316, ME 172, ME 202, ME 242 This course provides an introduction to the fi nite element method. Characteristics and limitations of several basic fi nite elements are evaluated. The fi nite element method is applied to both structural and thermal problems. Applications of the fi nite element method are carried out with commercial software. (As needed)
