Fee: $25.00 Prerequisite: Bio 200 and Bio 221/222 or 321 An introductory course that will explore the general features of many of the most common types of viruses. Particular emphasis will be placed on the varied replication strategies employed by specifi c viruses as well as the interactions between specifi c viruses and the host cells they infect. The accompanying lab will focus on developing profi ciency in bacterial and animal host cell culturing methods as well as in the analysis of the replication potential and effects of viruses in host cells.
