Prerequisite: Bio 302 The purpose of this course is to elaborate on information gained in Bio 302 (Ecology). We will explore plants' complex interactions with their environments, looking often to adaptations which enable species to exploit particular ecological niches. Understanding such interactions will require the incorporation of concepts drawn from various other fi elds including geology, chemistry, climatology, and mathematics. Students will gain an appreciation for the impact that plants have on ecosystems, as well as how plants are affected by changes in those ecosystems. (See teaching schedule)
