Prerequisite: Texas Success Initiative complete in Reading and Writing. This course offers a study of nutrition, health, safety, and related activities, including skill development in management of issues, guidelines, and practices in nutrition, as well as community health, hygiene, safety, and legal implications. Integration of these principles applied to a variety of settings. Course includes 15 hours of field experience. State-mandated field-of-study course for elementary teacher certification, grades early childhood through fourth.
