Prerequisite: Texas Success Initiative complete in Reading and Writing. This course will trace the continuity of philosophical ideas from the Greek period to the present day. Major philosophical systems and schools of thought will be stressed. Emphasis will be placed on the ethical systems as evolving from the conditions then current. The controversies and major ideas will be examined and the students will be encouraged to take part in informal discussions and debates.
