A study of the structure and function of plant systems, reproduction, heredity, physiology, characteristics of the various plant groups, and ecological relationships. This learning experience is designed to foster a basic understanding of the concepts of biology as they relate to plants. Students are required to develop a basic research project and prepare a research paper on a topic relating to plants. Required of all Biology and Environmental science majors and students electing to minor in either. Prerequisite: BIOL 130. Offered every spring semester. Laboratory fee $50.
